REVIEW: The Bane Chronicles by Cassandra Clare and other authors

From GoodReads.com:

“Fans of The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices can get to know warlock Magnus Bane like never before in this collection of New York Times bestselling tales, in print for the first time with an exclusive new story and illustrated material.

This collection of eleven short stories illuminates the life of the enigmatic Magnus Bane, whose alluring personality, flamboyant style, and sharp wit populate the pages of the #1 New York Times bestselling series, The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices.”

This book was simply fantastic. If you have seen my earlier posts you will know that this was my second favourite book of 2014. It was hilariously funny, action packed and full of emotion and wit. Cassandra Clare’s writing style and sense of humor is really on point in this  collection of short stories.

If you are a fan of the Shadowhunter chronicles and you haven’t picked up this book yet you really need to. It answers so many questions about Magnus, like why he is banned from the country of Peru, and it contains the events of his first date with Alec. If you are a fan of young adult novels and you haven’t picked up The Mortal Instruments or Infernal Devices series’ yet I would highly recommend giving them a read. They are brilliantly witty and the world they are set in is fantastically developed. Though personally I feel like The Infernal Devices series is the better series between the two.

This book was fantastic and I wanted to reread it the moment I finished it, so I gave it 5 out of 5 stars on GoodReads.com. I enjoyed it more than some of the books in the Mortal Instruments series and I want a second Magnus book some day in the future. A girl can dream.
