When I first started this blog I wrote a post about my favourite local bookshop, Keats & Chapman in Belfast, Northern Ireland, you might remember it or you might not, that doesn’t matter, what matters is that the bookshop is now in danger.
Belfast has sold the land the bookshop, and many other small local businesses, stands on to a large English property developer. They plan to knock down all of the historical buildings in the area and replace them with a modern 26 storey tower block. This part of Belfast is one of the most beautiful and vibrant parts of the city and it is about to be replaced with an ugly block of modern shops and apartments.
This is what they will be demolishing:
If you are as disgusted as I am, even if you are not a local to Belfast, Ireland or the UK, you can join the fight against this by sharing #SaveCQ on social media or joining the Facebook page.
Save my beloved bookshop.
