2017 has been one hell of a blogging year.
I have actually been running this blog since 2014. Back then I was trying to fit in with all of the other book bloggers out there but it was dull and I didn’t post very often because I was bored and felt like my posts were getting drowned in the sea of blogs that were all written about the exact same books I was reading. 2016 was the year of the rebranding. I wasn’t very active but that was intentional. I was still working on the new face for my blog and I didn’t want people constantly dropping by when the place was a layout disaster and had inconsistent writing. When it comes to 2017 I would say it was the year I properly found my voice. I made a point of being more active and finally launched myself into the community. I even started making my own blog graphics. I am a graphic and digital designer professionally so it has been fun to use my blog for some Photoshop practice. I love making Spine Cracker graphics. They are so much fun.
To the dozens of blogging and online friends I have made this year, thank you. I am surprised that so many people are interested my creepy little blog. I am even more surprised that you all seem so “normal”. I thought the only people who would be interested in my shiny newly branded blog would be creepy folks like myself, apparently I was very wrong. You normals are messed up! Good for you. Stay creepy and I love you all for it.
What to expect in the new year? Well, maybe I will finally get my readathon, Spook Stock, off the ground because it didn’t happen this year as life got in my way. I will also be rereading Stephen King again so you can all enjoy me torturing myself some more. There will be more Goosebumps, more spooky facts about various books and maybe I will throw in some history posts while I am at it because I have a few ideas. I guess we will see what 2018 brings.
I guess this is just a post to say thank you, Happy New Year and have a very merry Christmas. I will see you in 2018.
I for one am so very happy you decided to rebrand! I love your creepy little space 🙂 I hide well…. I seem normal on the outside but on the inside it’s a scary place 😂 merry Christmas!
Well your brand is your personality! Life would be so boring without diversity so it should not surprise you that so many people loved it 😉 Merry Christmas!
Everyone’s unique and I personally love that particular trait about you. Although I am not someone who would read spooky books, but I love your blog. HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Also I want that readathon to happen.
