Summary:
“Cassidy Blake’s parents are The Inspectres, a (somewhat inept) ghost-hunting team. But Cass herself can REALLY see ghosts. In fact, her best friend, Jacob, just happens to be one.
When The Inspectres head to ultra-haunted Edinburgh, Scotland, for their new TV show, Cass—and Jacob—come along. In Scotland, Cass is surrounded by ghosts, not all of them friendly. Then she meets Lara, a girl who can also see the dead. But Lara tells Cassidy that as an In-betweener, their job is to send ghosts permanently beyond the Veil. Cass isn’t sure about her new mission, but she does know the sinister Red Raven haunting the city doesn’t belong in her world. Cassidy’s powers will draw her into an epic fight that stretches through the worlds of the living and the dead, in order to save herself.”
Why I need it:
Ghosts! Victoria Schwab!!
I am at the point where I will read anything with Victoria Schwab’s name on it. Her writing is always beautiful and never fails to keep me hooked, and with this book she is writing about a favourite topic of mine, ghosts.
This might sound a bit strange but, I don’t think there are enough ghost books out there. There has been a few golden ages of horror but since then the ghost genre has sort of dried up. It is hard to find a new ghost book anywhere. Schwab is one of my favourite authors of all time so hopefully I will get a shiny new ghost related book out of it.
City of Ghosts is scheduled for release on August 28th 2018
Waiting for Wednesday is a weekly meme started by Break the Spine to spotlight upcoming releases, and continued by Wishful Endings
Oh and if you can think of a good ghosty book recommendation please let me know!
I also love ghost books. Let me know if you know some good ones. I am longing to read them
I read this one already. It was a good read! I think you will enjoy it.
I might save this one to read in October. I need a good not-so-scary buddy read to convince my pal Maria to read!
You’re the second one to pick this one today and I don’t blame you. I’m hoping to read this one as well. 🙂
haha yes ‘Ghosts! Victoria Schwab!!” says it all! This book is on my list of most anticipated releases too! 🙂
